The project is situated in a thriving urban area, characterized by noise and constant movement. To counteract this, the design focuses on creating a quiet and elegant atmosphere indoors. The initial goal was to isolate the noisy traffic outside, allowing visitors to experience a sense of tranquility as they step into the space. The interior is carefully crafted to evoke the feeling of strolling through a Chinese garden, with each element strategically placed to guide the viewer's gaze and create a sense of movement.
Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a play of light and shade, leading them onto a bridge that spans a tranquil pool. The middle of the pool features a suspended wall with a cascading waterfall, adding a touch of serenity to the space. At the end of the bridge, a copper lotus pond awaits, providing a visual focal point and a sense of harmony. As visitors continue their journey, they pass through an arch and enter the next room, where the design continues to unfold.
The VIP room, designed with a pavilion concept, features five semi-open pavilions that do not disturb each other. Near the pavilions, a row of trees adds a natural touch, while colored stainless steel fencing defines the space. The materials used, including walnut, coffee travertine, marble gray latte, Batty gray marble, and carbon-colored stainless steel, enhance the texture and shape of the design, creating an elegant and noble Modern Chinese Garden.
The Modern Chinese Garden project, spanning 10,000 square feet, showcases the creativity and ingenuity of Kris Lin and his design team. Their ability to seamlessly merge tradition with modernity has earned them recognition in the form of the Bronze A' Design Award in 2012. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
With the Modern Chinese Garden, Kris Lin has created a sanctuary in the heart of the city, offering a respite from the chaos of urban life. This design serves as a testament to the power of blending tradition and modernity, creating a space that is both timeless and contemporary.
